About me

Jon Xavier Olano Pozo (1984) is a PHD Candidate in Tourism and Leisure Studies in Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, Catalunya) and researcher at GRATET group and Movetur Project. 

Jon has Bachelor Degree in Sociology by Barcelona University (UB) and Master Degree in Territorial Planning by Rovira i Virgili University.

He is doing a Ph.D. thesis about urban transformations in Catalan Coastal Municipalities, in a process from tourist destinations to metropolitan periphery. The Thesis is supervised by Dr. Francesc González Reverté and Dr. Salvador Anton Clavé. He is also interested in Creative Class Theory; in the rise, distribution and evolution of creative class in Catalonia; in leisure choices of urban people; in residential mobilities; in commuting workforce and his impact in symbolic universe of municipalities who exports commuters; and, in others related issues.

In his (few) leisure time is a pro-cycling fan and roller hockey supporter.
